- Spot who is cooperating and who is not, so you know who to keep and who to dismiss
- Run the first, simplest skit and build from there using pyramiding
- Install a posthypnotic trigger — a handshake, a forehead tap or the word “sleep” — for instant re-induction
- Identify non-responders and dismiss them gracefully, without anyone feeling singled out

- Anchor each bit to a trigger — a name, a song, or a round of applause
- Select the right person for each bit to maximize the laughs
- Use rapid-fire energizing skits whenever the show’s energy starts to lag

- Terminate trance safely: remove every suggestion, fully wake each volunteer and escort them off stage
